Thomas Torf named CEO of Virtual Application Partners, LLC

Scotts Valley, Calif., <April 5, 2005> - Virtual Application Partners, LLC today announced that Thomas Torf has joined on as CEO. Previous to Mr. Torf’s joining the firm, Virtual Application Partners was the developer of smartVerse, a proprietary platform for creating dynamic, multi-user, persistent simulated web environments. This technology has been productized into a variety of collaboration tools that combined online manipulation of documents and files as well as multi-participant Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) functionality and a simple user interface.

Mr. Torf has more than twenty years of successful high-tech management experience in global sales, professional services, research and development, marketing, and field operations. Previous to joining Virtual Application Partners, Mr. Torf has served as vice president and/or general manager for firms such as Covigna, a Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) automation company; TAZZ™ Networks, a security policy management company; Placeware, a leading Web conferencing services company, which was later acquired by Microsoft®; and Borland Software in the enterprise products division. During his career, Mr. Torf has also held numerous management positions at Unisys, Sybase, and Cap Gemini/debis.
